ABOUT ME

Writing has been a passion of mine since I’ve been old enough to hold a pencil.
In high school, the highlight of my day was creative writing class,

where I could conjure up stories that transported me to places that seemed

infinitely more exciting than my classroom in the New Jersey suburbs.

 

When it came time to go to college, my practical nature won out and I opted

for a degree in Advertising. This way I would be able to find a steady job that

paid me to write, instead of living off ramen noodles while I struggled to

pen a bestselling novel.

My first job after graduation was a marketing role with a company that sold GPS devices for airplanes. I really enjoyed learning about the technology and the aviation industry. Eventually, I became knowledgeable enough not only to create marketing materials, but also to give product demos at trade shows. 

 

This newfound fondness for technology led me to build a 10+ year career in tech marketing with a heavy focus on content creation and strategy. I've served as a writer, editor, content marketing strategist and marketing director for B2B companies spanning a wide range of technologies and industries. While most of these companies are not tech giants, they provided me with invaluable firsthand experience in many areas beyond content marketing including demand generation, SEO, social media, branding, corporate communications and public relations. Because I know how everything works—and works together—I have a unique understanding of what's required to create high-quality content that drives engagement.

I had dreamed of being my own boss for a long time, but until recently, was too risk averse to do it. A few months ago, various life events led me to conclude that I would rather take a chance on myself than live with a lifetime of "what ifs."  So I quit my job at a SaaS startup to become a freelance B2B content marketer, and here I am. I hope you'll take a chance on me (queue Abba).
